After the stream has ended and the one-month donation period of the route has passed, Members of The Switchback will be at the Saluda Depot Museum to install the “at-the-throttle” experience and show the museum staff how to operate Trainz Railroad Simulator 19/22 and the route with its included sessions for guest interactions.The earliest known history of Thomas content in TRS begins with MSTNoodle, a retired Trainzgineer who made simple yet lovable models and exported them to the game, eventually making themĪvailable for download. The route will also receive two independent promotional videos which are an inspired recreation of the Saluda Training Video created by Norfolk Southern in 1984 and Pentrex. Home/professional footage, and interviews with prominent historians, railroad videographers, photographers, and well-established Trainz content creators will also take place. The stream will entail a showcase of the Saluda Grade route with many ranges of trains both up and down the grade. The date for this event will be decided as we move closer to release. All previous planning will culminate into a 12-hour live stream from 9 am to 9 pm EST. Phase four is the final product in action. Also included in this phase are the testing of The Switchbacks streaming layout and the incorporation of donation buttons, a live donation counter, and media transitions. We expect this to provide a consistent stream of donations over the month and include most of the money donated towards the museum. These proceeds will all be donated to the Saluda Depot Museum. The Switchback plans on selling both versions of the route (diesel and steam era) for five dollars for one month. Phase three will include setting up financial accounts to support the donationware. Currently, we are looking for more partners in order to bring all corners of the rail community together (videographers, photographers, local historians, Southern Railway historians, former crew of the Southern Railway, and Trainz content creators). We have gained $600-800 in financial support as of July 16th, 2023 between five donors. This includes the presentation of the idea to gain support through content, physical, and monetary contributions as well as promotion of the project's release stream. Phase one covers our initial contact with major supporters/contributors.
